Exploring the Beauty of Underwater World Through Fish Drone

We live on a beautiful planet with so many interesting places to visit and see. And so it’s not surprising that traveling has become one of the best leisure activities. It has become possible due to the innovative developments of Chinese engineers who developed the first bionic wireless underwater fish drone, Biki.

Biki is the new consumer-oriented product that was launched in May 2017, and the product is already available at online Amazon store. It has not only already raised more than $200,000 through crowdfunding campaign, but also attracted the first users from over 40 countries and regions. These numbers speak for themselves and show the needs of contemporary society for better, safer and more efficient ways of underwater world exploration.

The robotic fish was developed on the basis of bionics and hydromechanics principle. The underwater operation is performed by micro underwater acoustic remote control device, while that of above-water is by Wi-Fi signal. The signal receiver is located on the top of the product; the front camera can capture all the view while it’s moving forward in the water. The two illumination lamps towards the same direction enhance the quality of the shot. The infrared smart obstacle-avoidance and GPS return-to-base functions are added which can guarantee a long service life of the product as well as prevent it from collision or being lost.

The product is designed as a newborn baby fish, so its body is very petite. The camera can be visualized as its eyes, while infrared sensor area can be envisioned as its lips. These two parts are combined to display the facial expression that looks irresistibly cute. The battery life is extremely long thanks to the bionic driving power and its ability of energy saving. The built-in 16m pixels HD camera is capable of capturing 4K video, which ensures the data to be collected on time and, thus, allows to enjoy the mysterious and wondrous underwater world in the first place. Besides, it’s very lightweight and, therefore, can be easily carried around.

Just like air drones have been used with various purposes, the underwater drone Biki can be applied in multiple areas as well, - it can be used just for fun, for educational purposes or for taking beautiful photos and video. It’s astonishing that these days we all have high chances of exploring the underwater world with not so much training and efforts from our side but with the help of small robots that can become our new ‘friends’ and assistances.
